-be comfortable around the subjects you are shooting and interact with them
-larger format cameras have more detail but are slow to operate
-35mm cameras are best for candid and environmental portraits
-slow films(50-100iso) captures more detail and creates smoother images
-fast films(400-3200iso) more sensitive to light and are suited to available light photography like candid and environmental. doesn't pick up as many details
-black and white can focus viewer's attention on the subject and eliminate some distracting elements. formal and serious feel but "edgy" energy
-colors carry feelings and impressions.
-consider the mood you want and decide whether you want color or black and white.
-24mm is too close to subject and not flattering
-50mm distortion decreased because farther away.
-100mm most flattering image. near normal perspective w/o distortion
-formal portrait is simplest style and should emphasize the subject only
